Architects often receive requests for proposals to bid and pitch for potential projects. The usual format for a proposal consists of a matter-of-fact nature document, chock full of numbers and figures. For this particular proposal, the firm decided to take a more informal, personal and editorial approach to their understanding of the clients’s needs and eschewed the traditional proposal format. They chose to have a frank and focused conversation about design and the firm’s approach to design.
